A User-Unfriendly Web UI: A Blessing, not a Curse

Prometheus has a built-in web UI that is useful for debugging and testing queries. However, it is not suitable for creating dashboards for monitoring purposes. The Prometheus web UI is not user-friendly and lacks advanced visualization features.

This is not a curse, but a blessing. Prometheus was designed to be lightweight and fast. It perfectly fulfills its purpose of collecting and storing metrics, and follows the Unix philosophy of doing one thing, doing it well, and working together with other tools.
