Keep Junk Out of Your Repo

Not every file in your project belongs in Git. Some files are generated automatically, some contain sensitive information, and some are just clutter. Committing them would bloat your repository and could even be a security risk. Git provides a simple way to tell it which files to ignore: a file called .gitignore.
