Helm and PVC Deletion: Direct vs. StatefulSet Behavior
An important note needs to be made about how Helm manages PersistentVolumeClaims during uninstall operations, especially when they are created by StatefulSets.
First of all, by default, when you uninstall a Helm release, Helm will attempt to delete all resources that were created as part of that release, including PVCs. This means that if your chart includes PVCs defined directly in the templates or as part of Deployments, DaemonSets, or other controllers, those PVCs will be deleted when you run helm uninstall.
