Installation & Configuration

Longhorn should be installed on the cluster where the volumes are needed. In this case, we will install it on our RKE2 cluster. Follow these steps to use Rancher Management UI to provision Longhorn:

  • Click on the Cluster Management menu in the sidebar.
  • Click on the explore button for the cluster where you want to install Longhorn (rke2-cluster in this case).
  • Click on Apps > Charts and search for longhorn.
  • Click on the Longhorn chart and then click on the Install button.
  • If you want to use the same versions as in this guide - and I highly recommend it to avoid any discrepancies between the guide and your setup - you should set the image section in the YAML editor of the Longhorn chart to the following:
