Scale AI: Why Data Will Power the AI Revolution

Scale AI was founded by Alexandr Wang, who initially wanted to solve the small problem of knowing when to restock his fridge.

He realized the importance of data in powering artificial intelligence and founded Scale as a data infrastructure company to power the AI revolution. Initially, the company focused on autonomous vehicles and recruited humans to label images for car companies, so they could train their AI on those images. Scale eventually expanded to other industries such as satellite data, e-commerce data, large internet companies, insurance companies, and government organizations. Despite facing challenges as a young, scrappy team, Scale was able to grow and solve complex problems with the help of AI and machine learning.
