Microsoft announces new tools to help CSPs go cloud native

Microsoft has introduced a set of cloud-native tools to help telcos enhance their 5G adoption, network stability and subscriber data management.

Among the tools unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) are the Azure Operator Nexus hybrid cloud platform, Azure Operator Insights for drawing insights from network traffic via machine learning (ML) and Azure Operator Service Manager for simplifying network configuration into one end-to-end set of operations.

AT&T is already using Azure Operator Nexus and connectivity firm Comtech has announced its intention to join the Azure Operator Nexus Ready Program. Microsoft claimed that the tools could result in a 38% decrease in total cost of ownership for a telco over five years.
