First post ever: the importance of adapting to change

I'd like to start thank you for reading my first post on this platform. I truly appreciate your time.

Since this is the first post I did not want to go technical at all and it should not be a large post. Most likely I want to express about the important of being able to cope with changes in our professional life.

Whether you are junior o senior developer adapt to change is a constant in this career. Have you ever been working on a project you are very passionate about to shortly after it got started the project gets cancelled for whatever reason. Next thing to know you are in another project that is milles away of the passion and hard work. This feels like a bump in our career. I know it because I've been there and the only way to cope with it was to communicate very clearly and calmly how you are feeling about the change. It does not matter if you are the younger in the team or the experienced team member. We must all learn to commnicate and to do it effectively. What I did was to understand the other side of the coin on why I am here now and for how long is expected my contribution on this project to be. What is the skill set I should have and see if that fits my career path. If you project leader cannot respond this kind of question is a red sign to me and its time to move on. But if the project manager transparently tell you about the lenght of the project and what is expected from you then you have to leverage if you continue on this mission and complete it to return back to a more exciting project. It's up to you but always this decsision needs to be informed. Information is data and you obtain it fro communicaction.

I have sadly at least two of these bittersweat experiences and speaking by my self I know its kind very frustrating at the moment and the only thing you want to do its to quit right in the moment. Be cautious with that. On this digital era every professional move on your carreer may be watch by your next employee and the last thing you may want is that they see a developer that cant handle frustration.

All in all, cope with changes in your career require you to analyze what you do want to do, what you like to do, is it possible this change is benefit for me, how long do I will be in this situation, does it have a possible near end to move forward, or is it permanent change that you do not ask for?

Find a time to talk with your manager and have an honest conversation. Hopefully he or she can work out along with you the solution for this change.
