Grafana’s been busy clearing the shelves. Grafana Agent, Agent Flow, and OnCall? All deprecated. The replacement: Grafana Alloy - a one-stop observability agent that handles logs, metrics, traces, and OTEL without flinching.
Meanwhile, Mimir 3.0 ships with a Kafka-powered ingestion pipeline. More scalability, sure. But also more moving parts. Self-hosting just got trickier.
What’s the play? Grafana’s speeding toward a fully integrated, cloud-first stack. That’s great if you're all-in on their ecosystem. But for folks maintaining self-hosted setups? The ground feels a little less solid.
