Ingress NGINX Is Retiring. Here’s Your Path Forward with HAProxy

The Ingress NGINX project is riding off into the sunset by March 2026. Time to pick a new horse. One strong contender: the HAProxy Kubernetes Ingress Controller. It matches feature-for-feature, comes with deeper observability, and reloads configs without taking your cluster offline.

HAProxy’s not stopping there. The new HAProxy Unified Gateway (beta) is aiming ahead, supporting both old-school Ingress and the Kubernetes Gateway API. That lines up with where the Kubernetes community’s heading.

Bigger picture: The future of Kubernetes networking is Gateway API. Controllers like HAProxy are stitching the old and new worlds together.
