How WebAssembly plugins simplify Kubernetes extensibility

How WebAssembly plugins simplify Kubernetes extensibility

Helm 4 runs WebAssembly (Wasm) plugins to execute WASI modules inside OCI containers and VMs. Helm templates standardize module lifecycle. The Wasm plugin adds instruction-level sandboxing and Kubernetes segmentation. Helm 4 preserves portability across x86/ARM. Compared with Helm 3 plugins, it shows up to a 40% latency swing.

Adoption cue: Helm’s Wasm plugin lowers operational friction for teams standardized on Kubernetes and Helm. It eases Wasm uptake and requires no control-plane surgery.
